Steamer Trunk with brass fittings

A lovely old steamer trunk with brass fittings, corner brackets and wooden banding.

This would have been used to carry clothing and personal items by wealthy travelers on steamer boats and railways. Please note the 2 clasps at the front do not catch properly so the trunk is always open, also due to the age of the trunk the key is no longer present.

Would look fantastic at the end of a bed to store linen, or used as a very unusual coffee table.

All of our vintage antique wooden chests, trunks and blanket boxes are old, often over 100 years old and will therefore show signs of use which we feel add to the character and appeal of the item.
